If you are new to photography, before purchasing a camera figure out what your style of photography is. Do you want to focus on portraits & people? Landscapes? Nature? Fast paced moving objects like cars or athletes? Find the correct lenses for your niche. Portrait/ people, landscapes, you don’t necessarily need a telephoto (super zoom) lens. You would want something more like an 18mm-5...& don’t get in the way. I've had people walk up, during a ring exchange, stand there with a PHONE over the couples hands & take photos. Then the couple gets mad because I didn't get a good shot. What do you want from me? Make a scene & kick your son out at your wedding? Redo the ceremony? What?!… I can't do people photography anymore. Seriously another couple complained because they wanted outdoor photos in June at 1 pm & were all hot n sweaty. If I do I require NO CELL PHONES. Sounds harsh but people all want their own photos & often block the HIRED photographer.
