We have visited the White House a few times. The tour requires advance notice and security approval. Beautiful historical rooms and decor.

Smithsonian Museums and Zoo
Plan your trips ahead of time using the Metro. We used the subway system to navigate the city for all of our trips to DC.

Monuments & Memorials
We also used bikes to get around the city each time we visited DC. The city is equipped with many bike stations, and you can check availability of each station on their app. Very reasonable price for a scenic day out.

Library of Congress
Prepare for the weather. We have visited during the Spring, Summer and Fall. Rain does not stop The Changing of the Guards. We typically either take the Metro or bike (long ride).
Arlington National Cemetery
Bring your tissues and experience the tragic history of the Holocaust. We have visited several times and still find ourselves with goosebumps in observation of the events of this time period.
United States Holocaust Memorial Museum
Not a super long tour. Great stop before lunch. Try to get in line early in the day.
Ford's Theatre
Check out the show schedule before you plan your trip. We've seen the National Symphony Orchestra, which was phenomenal!
John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
Beautiful architecture and history!
