Midwest-ish Trail riding/Bridal Camps for the trailing loving horse gal at heart. There are simply too many beautiful trails in this area to get the experience to have tried them all. So, this list isn't large. Nor is it flashy, but dang if it isn't absolutely worth the time and effort to go to each one of these! I'd love to hear comments or suggestions for future camping endeavors!
Map
Absolute All-Time Favorite Riding Trails. Extensive Trails on two sides of the park. Fun destinations (highly recommend you gander down to Story). Electric and Primative Camping. Fun, but ensure you horse is conditioned well if you plan on going all day.
Horsemen's Electric Campground map
Well-kept, wide trails. Beautiful scenery. Best shower house. Different camping options. One shorter trail around the lake, but it has hikes/kids/dogs. Long distance trails with hills (highly recommend well conditioned horses).
Deam Lake Horse Campground
Beautiful Riding trails, with some goat paths in between. One trail goes down a creek, under the highway, so new riders or young horses may pick an alternative trail. Primative campground.
Versailles State Park
This is on my bucket list, so I can not speak on experience. However, advid trailriders always recommend going at least once.
Cross Country Trail Ride – The best equine campground ...
Beautiful trails. Experience highly recommended to go at least once, but I bet you will go more than once!
Hocking Hills Horseman's Camp
Of course it's beautiful. Gorgeous rolling hills. Mostly primative with showerhouse. Area to park you trailer.
O'Bannon Woods State Park
Be ready to have your mind blown. Gorgeous riding and wonderful amenities. 60 miles of trails~ hills, streams, caves…. just wow.
