Let's chat like we are besties, trying to figure out what adventure we want to take our littles on for the weekend. Something local-ish, not too costly, kid friendly…. and maybe a little mom friendly, too! LOL Take time to make memories…. you never know what you kiddo will remember from these jaunts!
Map
Great Size! Not too crowded, but busy. They have GREAT food! Go pick apples right from the trees with an interactive map (no tarts for me, thanks!), pick pumpkins from the patch (highly recommend grabbing a wagon for the tractor ride), playground and real bathrooms! AppleCider Slushy is a MUST!
Pleasant View Orchard
Worth the Wait! Absolute must if you are anywhere near Louisville! Kiddos will love it! Be sure to pack snacks and potty break before you get in line!
Lights Under Louisville
Super Fun, Great half day or longer~ depending on the kiddos. Very busy during school breaks.
Newport Aquarium
Extraordinary! You can stay here all day and not get through everything. It's busy, so I personally recommend adult to kid ratio as low as possible. Kids will love and and just want to explore!
City Museum
If you have any kiddos that are horse crazy, just plan a trip! Kiddos (and mommas that are still horse crazy), be prepared to make your heart happy!
Kentucky Horse Park
Hands Down Must Go in the Summer for the Water Park. It's huge, well maintained, clean. The entire park is nice, I'd recommend 1-2 days. Great for littles and bigs on the age range.
Holiday World Theme Park & Splashin' Safari Water Park
State Fairs are an End-of-the-Summer Must! We take our kiddos through the barns and exhibits and save the ride for the amusement parks, but that is just us.
Indiana State Fair
PSA: Boy Mom- Do it! Just get your noise cancelling headphones for everyone, plan to drop $$$ on new monster truck items and enjoy the evening. I have fun just watching my kiddos more than the trucks. Their eyes are so light up!
The Official Monster Jam® Site
Indoor water parks ~ Yes please! This is a favorite cold weather activity for our family! Great time to forget all about the cold and nasty weather and just have fun swimming.
Indoor and Outdoor Waterparks
If you don't have horses, and your kiddos would like to ride- enjoy a beautiful ride on a nature-lovers dream trail. For those who have your own horse~ Go camping at the horseman's camp. Trail rides of all sizes for all levels of riders.
Nashville, IN - Brown County State Park Saddle Bar
Just wow! You and your kiddos will be on overload~ exhibits for all age groups! Enjoy!
The Children's Museum of Indianapolis
Big Kids Love Big Rides! Absolutely a solid day of amazing rides. There is even a little kiddie area complete with a mini rollercoaster. Go have fun!
Kings Island
Absolutely a Show Stopper! Be prepared to stay up late and watch the show! Nothing like it elsewhere!
Thunder Over Louisville
This Beach is meant for the Family! White Sand, Playground, Carosuel, Good Eats, Actual Bathrooms, Massive Splash Pad, Children's Museum…. Go for at least a long weekend…. we didn't get to see everything!
City of St. Joseph Michigan
Shhh….. don't tell the Disney Fans…. but my family LOVED the Disney Cruise. We had So. Much. More. Fun!! No long lines, so many things to see and do, great destinations…. just sayin.
Disney Cruise Line
OMG! Already in the Midwest? Grant Farms is a farm kiddos idea of a great time! Meet the Budwiser Clydesdales and all sorts of four legged friends in between! We were amazed at how much fun we packed into the day!
Home - The Grant's Farm Experience | St. Louis, MO
Yes! This is a stop even the kiddos will love!! Beautiful location on top of a mind blowing estate! It's hard to wrap your mind around this without being in it. Stop at the winery when you are done, it's got ice cream too! lol
